My wife and two boys saw you yesterday at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley for the 19th annual Mother's Day show. We brought Erick, 7 and Reggie, 4, to the concert and they had a wonderful time as did the whole audience! We heard about the show from the RDS newsletter sent out Friday and we're mighty glad we did! I hope we see you there again next Monther's Day! Thanks so much. Best - Rick

I never missed you guys at the Freight and Salvage during the 70s. Great memories. Kathy was kind enough to compliment my voice when I got up the nerve to do an open mike song. I just bought "Together" and LOVE it. Thanks "for the memories" and great music.

I was given "What Do You Dream About" years ago when I was teaching preschool and enjoyed it very much with my class (the kids especially loved "Garbage Man"). Now I am enjoying it again...my 10 wk old daughter will instantly calm when I play it for her when she's fussing! That was what sent me looking for more of your music...can't wait to hear "Use a Napkin!"

Three years ago I found you cd 'Use a napkin not your mom' in my mothers second-hand bookshop. Once in a while I listened to it. On the same day you are in Belgium, I placed on an online order for Reason&Rhyme. Today I discovered your website, so I've missed your live performance. Perhaps I'm the only one of my age around here that also listens to bluegrass once in a while, but I don't care. I think I'll buy My Mothers Voice now; 'cause your lyrics and music are great!

Your concert in the Club Synchron in Dortmund, Germany was really great. With my head, I loved to hear the echos of the many nations that have, historically, contributed to North American traditional music. You also brought in influences from other areas of music: rock and roll, jazz. With my heart, I heard how vital this music is, how your own dedication and creativity flow into it, and how special your own take on this tradition is, how you contribute to a special kind of "west coast bluegrass sound". Keep up the fine work!!

Hello Kathy and friends, we were visitors of Your concert yesterday night in Dortmund, Germany, and we were really pleased with Your strong and heartful music!! Thanks a lot for a few wonderful hours in the middle of the "ruhr-area" in Germany's West. We all are bluegrassers, too, and we were at the same engaged in hearing and looking what the "aborigines" do with their instruments and voices. One friend said, on the way back home: "It's time to get my 5-string out of the case again!" No comment. All the best wishes to You, Your music and the rest of Your European tour!! This is Kathy's little old webweaver, testing a change I've just made to the guestbook routine to stop displaying visitors' email addresses.

It seems that the Nigerian Scammers (aka 419 Fraudsters) harvest email addresses from a guestbook and then leave a message there using the names "mugu" or "guyman" to indicate that this guestbook has already been used, much as hobos (or hobbits) sometimes leave marks on doors they've visited.

Lots of amusing information at www.scamorama.com.

Hi Kathy, Happy Birthday to you! Your birthday was mentioned on NWBluegrass website. You may not remember us, but my husband and I ate dinner at the same table one evening at Merlefest last year with you and Amy. You were mentioning that it was your daughter's prom night and you were sad to be missing it. My husband takes banjo from Nick Hornbuckle. We mentioned that, too. Anyway, we saw you and Laurie, and your band at Wintergrass, and then at Merlefest. We're so excited that you'll be returning to Wintergrass this year. We love your music & your voice. Just couldn't pass up the opportunity to say Hello and wish you a wonderful birthday. Andrea & Harold Saxton

Kathy,

I have been a fan of your music for about 15 years when I discovered the music of The Good Ol' Persons through recordings. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to see The GOP perform live. I have never seen you perform live either. However, I really enjoy the variety of songs that you write and I guess Part Of A Story might be my favorite.

Well, anyway here's one guy who hopes that you make it to South Mississippi one of these days.

Hi Kathy, I am a singer of latin and gypsy music, and was invited to Wintergrass by a friend in Pearl Django. Wow! What a treat to hear such a flawless singer! Being a fellow musician, you can understand how difficult it can be to enjoy music when it is "a bit rough". Well, we didn't have anything to worry about with you and your great band! Your show was honest, elegant, and exceptional. Thankyou for the beautiful hour of personality and talent we experienced in the Ballroom at the Sheraton Hotel today. Kathy, We moved from Milwaukee to Alabama this summer. It's great you'll be at Merlefest next spring - let's make sure we get a chance to visit (remember, I'm that old time LRYer from the Chicago suburbs in the late 60s-early 70s). I play a mean bluegrass/old-time harmonica too . . . And if you have Birmingham on your calendar, make sure I know.

Hey Kathy and Peter Just had to write and let you know that "Use A Napkin (Not Your Mom)" was added to the playlist at Village 900 this summer from the "Mother" Sugar Hill compilation. I've got my (commercial free worldbeat/roots) radio show until the end of December 2002, and am really having TOO MUCH FUN listening to all this great music. Give us a shout next time you're in Victoria, and tune in on the web at www.village900.ca if you've got a hi-speed connection. I'm on 2:00 till 6:00 weekdays PST. Love and hugs Alison

i heard the good ol' persons many times when i lived in the bay area, but now live in flagstaff. it's a little harder to keep up with music here, so i only recently discovered the walkin' in my shoes cd. i wanted to say that the harmonies are incredible! i especially love your version of "when i wake up to sleep no more"--it's even better than ralph stanley's version. this cd ranks with the best of bluegrass that i've heard in a while. what's next? when are you coming to flagstaff?

Thank you all in the Kathy Kallick Band for a most enjoyable night at the Freight in Berkely, California last Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000. You warm us up on a cold raining night with great songs and playing. So nice to see former Good 'O Persons Beth Weil in the audience. She's a kind person and a great artist. Her works on CDs covers are just wonderful. Thank you Peter Thompson for a job well-done at the CDs and tapes table. Look like you made many sales and made everyone happy buying! Also your local radio program on KALW-FM is a great program on Bluegrass music and it hisrory. Also the info on the new stars of Bluegrass, and your information on upcoming Bluegrass concerts and playing around the San Francisco Bay Area is very helpful. Thank you Peter! And most of all, thank you Kathy, Amy, Tom, and Avram, of the Kathy Kallick Band! My very best to you all.

Your CD was given us by a Berkeley friend of one of your group. What a stunner! The harmonies are wonderful and I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out just how they work, my ear pressed to the speaker as I drive to work. Neck-cricking experience. Please let me know if you ever come to the Calvin in Northampton. Or anywhere in central Mass, for that matter. Thanks so much for your work. Nick Thompson
