My wife and two boys saw you yesterday at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley for the 19th annual Mother's Day show. Three years ago I found you cd 'Use a napkin not your mom' in my mothers second-hand bookshop. Once in a while I listened to it. On the same day you are in Belgium, I placed on an online order for Reason&Rhyme. Today I discovered your website, so I've missed your live performance. Perhaps I'm the only one of my age around here that also listens to bluegrass once in a while, but I don't care. I think I'll buy My Mothers Voice now; 'cause your lyrics and music are great!

Your concert in the Club Synchron in Dortmund, Germany was really great. With my head, I loved to hear the echos of the many nations that have, historically, contributed to North American traditional music. You also brought in influences from other areas of music: rock and roll, jazz. With my heart, I heard how vital this music is, how your own dedication and creativity flow into it, and how special your own take on this tradition is, how you contribute to a special kind of "west coast bluegrass sound". i heard the good ol' persons many times when i lived in the bay area, but now live in flagstaff. it's a little harder to keep up with music here, so i only recently discovered the walkin' in my shoes cd. i wanted to say that the harmonies are incredible! i especially love your version of "when i wake up to sleep no more"--it's even better than ralph stanley's version. this cd ranks with the best of bluegrass that i've heard in a while. what's next? when are you coming to flagstaff?

Attended the Kathy Kallick Band's concert at Berkeley's Freight and Salvage on 2-26-00 and was most impressed. Great singing and playing and quite entertaining. Was pleased to hear 2 old favorites, "The Storms Are On The Ocean" and "Waterbound" and really enjoyed the original songs.
